Keeping your car battery active is not just a luxury, but a necessity in order to always find the car ready to accompany us on our travels. Let's find out together how to keep it always beautiful, perky and healthy.

Having an efficient battery is not an option among many. In fact, we cannot decide to have a low or non-performing battery.

If we try to think locally, if the battery does not turn on, our car will not start. And suddenly all our plans and all our programs of the day must be revolutionized. Not everyone has a charger in the car or inside the garage. The immediate consequence is to immediately call someone who can help us, even if there would be some aspects to always remember in order to keep the health of the battery pretty solid.

In order to avoid having to call a tow truck, with the consequent economic inconvenience and waste of time, we will try to understand how to keep it well charged.

As a first aspect, however, let's try to understand how a battery is formed . It basically stores electricity for later use. The supply of electricity occurs when a circuit is created between the positive pole and the negative pole. This process occurs whenever our car requires energy for a certain action, such as simply turning on the parking lights, activating the air conditioning or turning on the radio.

The battery has the primary purpose of starting the starter motor through a small discharge and keeping the entire electrical system active during the journey we make.

As the life of the battery continues, there may be small actions that deteriorate its health. For example, if we forget the headlights on , or the dashboard instrument panel lights or the radio for a long time, clearly the demand for electricity continues to arrive at the battery. Consequently, the latter, failing to recharge along the way, undergoes a rapid deterioration.

How can we tell if our battery is about to run out? There are some devices on the market that allow you to read the battery charge, in order to have an irrefutable numerical data. In this way the driver is always aware of the efficiency level of the battery. Some cars also have the presence of a warning light in the dashboard, which warns the driver of a low battery level and the need to run for cover.

In order to keep the battery fully charged, there are some simple tips that we must always remember.

As a first aspect, the optimal storage temperature for a battery is an average temperature of about 15 ° throughout the year. Therefore, keeping the machine stationary in the winter outdoors could seriously create a big problem for the battery and could quickly lead to deterioration. Therefore, if you have a garage or an underground parking space, the temperature of which is never too low even in winter, it is certainly recommended to park it in those places.

In addition, the garage should have a dry , well-ventilated climate. This aspect, although it may seem too simple, still significantly increases the efficiency of the battery.

Even if we are not fond of excessive cleaning of our car, cleaning the battery externally is something really important as it avoids the formation of leakage currents, totally deleterious for the good outcome of the battery life.

Furthermore, if we don't use the car a lot during the summer months , our advice is to recharge the battery with a charger every month. And if we have a classic car in the garage, it is always recommended to recharge the battery every two months. A charger in this case is an excellent item to buy and always keep inside our garage.

And if we are about to leave for a relaxing or business trip, let us always remember to observe the state of health of the battery, and in the case of recharging it just enough to travel in a serene and carefree way along our path.
