The 100% electric Opel compact SUV won the “Volante d'oro 2021” award for best car under € 25,000

Once again, electric cars are changing the ranking when it comes to automotive awards. A few hours ago, the Opel compact SUV won the coveted “Volante d'oro 2021” award.

The category to which it belongs is linked to cars under € 25,000, purchased by the majority of people. Last year, the prize was won by the electric version of the Opel Corsa and now it's time for the compact SUV that is always 100% electric.

To underline the golden moment of sustainable mobility, then we think of an SUV characterized by a bold design and very high performance. You don't hear a heat engine as it is driven by an electric propulsion capable of delivering 136 horsepower and a maximum torque that can reach 260 Newton meters.

To push all this there is a 50 kWh battery that allows you to have a range of up to 338 km, according to the WLTP homologation cycle. This compact SUV is therefore perfect for all daily activities that fall within the city and also for moving within your province for example. It will certainly not have a record range of 500 km, but remember that it is an SUV in a fairly low price range.

A price range in electric mode below € 25,000 is something very interesting. In fact, if we do a classic search between diesel and petrol cars, we calmly notice that the price level is around € 25,000 for this compact SUV.

The implementation of the electric mode is therefore an important aspect that allows the new electric Mokka to take this coveted prize home. Opel engineers have worked a lot on the level of efficiency of the vehicle, obviously including the regenerative braking system, obviously at the cutting edge. In this way, during the braking or deceleration phases, the new Mokka is even more efficient and allows for energy recovery in these phases.

One of the main aspects of electric mobility is clearly charging, but thanks to the development of Opel technologies, it is possible to charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes with the public 100 kW fast charging stations.

Opel CEO, in a recent note released by the company, is extremely pleased with this award and emphasizes cutting-edge technologies and uncompromising design.

This award was created and outlined by a jury of experts but also by the readers of important German newspapers such as Auto Build.

Ultimately we can say that sustainable mobility is becoming increasingly popular also in people's eyes. It is therefore not a question of a progressive development of prototypes and of delineating a narrow niche segment, but we are facing a real revolution that allows you to benefit from a good mileage while perfectly respecting the environment as you travel in complete mode. 100% electric.
