Renault presents a truly dynamic and hybrid-powered SUV Coupé.

We'll have to wait a few months, still given that it will arrive in dealerships in the spring of 2024, but the wait for this SUV Coupé is really long.

The name Renault chose to rename this car is the strong gust of wind. An evocative and emotional decision, therefore, which emphasizes how fundamental the names of the cars are.

Deciding to choose a gust of wind means highlighting the moment of change by Renault, within the world of premium SUVs.

Since the first SUV which was produced several years ago, there have been endless variations and endless ways of perceiving the world of SUVs.

Lately, car manufacturers are increasingly moving towards a declension of SUVs in a coupé style. Just think, for example, of Audi, and all its vehicles in the Sportback variant. Not least Mercedes, with its sloping roof variants at the rear.

Renault certainly couldn't fall behind, within a much lower price range than Mercedes and Audi. For this reason, it has decided to create an SUV that you don't expect in terms of value for money.

The segment this vehicle falls into is the D, and it introduces a stylistic language that anticipates the future of the French brand. In terms of price it won't be cheap, but it won't be out of reach for the vast majority of people either.

A truly important model for Renault, which wants to make up for lost ground within the Premium segments. Indeed, Renault positions itself very well in the smaller segments, such as the Clio and other intermediate segments for example, but loses some prestige and authority in large vehicles.

No pricing information has been officially released, but they shouldn't be much higher than a flagship car from Renault.

Looking at this car visually from the outside, you immediately notice how the design change that started in 2020 will be refined once again. Dynamism and sturdiness are two basic concepts, which are immediately perceived by observing the large vertical grille which highlights the logo in the centre, and the maxi headlights positioned at the ends of the front.

The vehicle presents itself in a sophisticated way - this is a factor that should not be overlooked. The great work done by Renault in stylistic terms is therefore well captured by a car with a strong aesthetic personality.

For those who like to hide among the thousands of cars that are sold, this car is not the right one. The new Renault is perfect for those who like an unusual car, well built and characterized by squared surfaces and taut lines.

It is enough simply to look at the front and rear light clusters to understand well how this discourse of the lines and parts of the car has been the subject of endless work. Observing it in its complexity, however, the image of an SUV Coupé of about 470 cm is clearly highlighted, and which will probably be the basis for future Renault cars.

Climbing into the car, we are immediately greeted by a large vertical display located in the center of the dashboard, which allows you to control all the infotainment and the main aspects of the car. The display is now digital and the memories of a dial with the hands.

Opening the bonnet, one sees how the propulsive force is defined only by hybrid forms. Initially we will start with a very small engine in terms of volume or 1200cc, but equipped with an important battery pack, which guarantees a total of 200 horsepower.

By 2024, and to be precise by December next year, a plug-in version will also arrive, with 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive.

Very interesting is the possibility, on the part of the lucky owners, to have a very limited turning radius. Obviously this benefit is in relation to the important dimensions of a car of almost 5 m in length.

Thanks to a very advanced system developed by Renault, it will be possible to reduce the turning radius very much, in order to be able to sneak through the city streets in a more performing way. This aspect is also optimized for parking, as it allows the car to be more fluid in these difficult phases of use of the car.

Of course, there will also be sporting equipment, where the seat covers will be in 60% recycled Alcantara. Particular attention therefore to sustainability on the part of Renault.

What about infotainment? Google is the chosen partner: this allows the car to be as up-to-date as possible in the endless stages of innovation by the Internet giant. The driver and passengers will in fact be able to benefit from a user interface that is very similar to that of a smartphone that we use every day.

According to what has been learned, from Renault, the car should be the first car that will benefit from the Android auto 12 system. The technology, in these cases, knows no boundaries and stops. Always being one centimeter ahead of your competitors is something truly rewarding for all those who use their car every day and like to keep up with technology.
