On the SS83 Marsicana there are currently bad weather conditions due to the snow. The white blanket is present along a specific stretch of the road, which extends:

  • from 7,839 km after the Gioia Dei Marsi crossroads
  • up to 5.185 km before the Ponte Zittola crossroads, in the direction of the SS17 of the Abruzzo Apennines.

Motorists are advised to pay particular attention and adopt prudent driving behaviour. Here are some useful tips for road safety in snowy conditions:

  • Reduce speed: Snow can reduce tire grip, so it is essential to moderate speed to maintain control of the vehicle.

  • Increase the safety distance: Maintain a greater distance from other vehicles to have sufficient space in the event of braking or sudden manoeuvres.

  • Use winter tyres: If possible, equip the vehicle with suitable winter tires to ensure better grip.

  • Avoid sudden maneuvers: Use the accelerator and brakes gradually to avoid skidding.

Traffic police officers are on site to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of travellers. It is advisable to follow updates and instructions from the competent authorities.
