The maxi SUV of the French house is now declined in a hybrid version perfect for a modern and current driving. Let's find out together.

The DS brand is certainly not one of the most famous and best-known brands in the international automotive scene. We can however say that it is a Citroen satellite, however, declined to a premium audience. If in fact DS3 is the chic version of the Citroen C3, we also have a much more bulky version in terms of dimensions.

We are talking about the # DS7 crossback, or a truly Premium SUV that manages to challenge even the most famous brands. Equipped with a non-trivial but refined line, thanks to its lines it succeeds in obtaining a place within a truly crowded segment.

Now is the time to present the new version that also allows autonomy in the electric version. DS has in fact created a hybrid version capable of allowing a range of up to 58 km on battery, to which obviously a 200 horsepower petrol engine must be added. Two electric motors also allow perfect all-wheel drive even for a light off-road vehicle.

By combining electric with petrol, this car manages to have emissions levels of just 34 grams of CO2 per km, which is one of the lowest figures in the entire category. This car builds its foundation on technology derived from formula E.

This aspect therefore allows to maximize autonomy and minimize consumption. Particular attention has been given to recovering the energy resulting from the use of the braking functionality while driving.

This last aspect provides a contribution equal to 25% of the total energy. In other words, this function allows the car a deceleration capable of reaching about 1 m per second to transform the kinetic energy into new energy to be introduced into the battery. In this way, the 58 km of autonomy are not absolutely utopian but are absolutely real.

Recharging the traction battery can be done thanks to a 32A wallbox in just two hours. In terms of fuel consumption, this maxi SUV consumes just 1.3 liters per 100 km within the rigorous WLTP homologation cycle.

However, we must specify that this aspect is linked to the first 100 km since when the traction battery runs out, it only goes to petrol engine and obviously does not have an autonomy of consumption of just one liter per 100 km.

Despite this, the performance data are truly exciting and touch the overall 300 horsepower with 520 Newtonmeter of maximum torque . The acceleration time from 0 to 100 km per hour is just 5.9 seconds and the car manages to reach a maximum speed of 240 km per hour.

This car also has three driving modes namely hybrid, sport and four-wheel drive. Depending on the type of road surface in front of us, this car is therefore perfect for use in an optimal situation, always trying to have maximum control of the car regardless of the road surface.

As for prices, no information has yet been released but we are absolutely certain that they are absolutely inferior to direct competitors whose prices are significantly higher.
