Citroen presents its philosophy for relaxed and safe driving at high speeds.

We all know how technology is essential for holidays and leisure moments to be completely ultra-safe. Very often during the summer time distractions can increase during travel and this obviously cannot happen in order to protect the health and integrity of all of us.

Also for this reason Citroen has analyzed and put in place a perfect system for the partial delegation of driving to the car . We are therefore talking about a level 2 semi-autonomous driving system, in which the vehicle takes control of the car in an interesting way. The whole system complex bases its essence on an on-board video camera that recognizes the continuous and broken lines of the road.

During the entire driving phase, the system continuously analyzes the images that are captured, processing and transforming the data to be analyzed.

Working together with an active cruise control with Stop & Go function and the active lane departure warning, the system aims to automatically keep the vehicle in the lane by managing speed and trajectory.

Citroen has decided to put this system working at a speed between 30 and 180 degrees kilometers per hour, in order to have an optimal driving experience at any level.

Citroen obviously left room for the driver in choosing the distance adjustment with the vehicle in front, being able to choose between "near" or "far" or alternatively a "normal" traditional distance. The driver can also decide whether to receive the lane departure warning or to eliminate this aspect.

The system then observes the position of the car in the center of the roadway. The driver therefore no longer has to manage the speed and trajectory of the vehicle itself and take on all these functions.

This function is particularly suitable for high-traffic roads such as motorways. This aspect obviously does not want to be a total demotion of man who must still remain focused on the fluidity of traffic and on the road.

In any case, the driver must keep his hands firmly on the steering wheel in order to be able to manage any emergency situations. In the event that the driver leaves the steering wheel, there is obviously an alarm system to signal this situation to the driver.

In the event that there is a slowdown with a total braking, obviously the system restarts as if nothing had happened in order to keep the driving experience on board the car fluid.

This system is currently built and installed on Citroen's most iconic car in the SUV segment, the C5 Aircross, but it has also been installed in the new C4 and in the 100% electric version of the car just mentioned.

An important help therefore for drivers to be able to live peacefully the movements along the fast-flowing sections in order to be able to reach the holiday destinations as soon as possible in a totally relaxed way.
