The European Commission has proposed the total abandonment and the ban on marketing thermal vehicles starting from 2035. A huge clash is coming, in order to mitigate the economic interests of the big car manufacturers and the usability of an electric car.

One of the main current issues is the ecological transition. This theme can be declined in many realities and in different sectors. We are progressively eliminating single-use plastics and the food sector is also seeing important innovations in terms of sustainability of crops and agricultural land.

The Automotive sector is encountering difficulties regarding the union of everyone's global interests. If on the one hand private cars account for about 12% of total pollution, on the other hand we still notice a certain slowness in the growth of electric cars and this is by no means a positive aspect.

The reasons are now quite trivial and within everyone's reach. The long charging time of an electric car, as well as the homogeneous absence of a distribution network, are the two main blocks that slow down the expansion of these types of vehicles.

Several car manufacturers have started announcing their industrial revolution steps. Some are ready and will no longer produce thermal cars in the next few years, while others postpone this tradition a bit.

To try to put everyone in agreement and set some stakes also with the governments of the various European states, the European Commission has decided to propose 2035 as the year of epochal change.

The proposal is that in 14 years it will no longer be possible to sell a thermal car.

However, this means that it will still be possible to continue driving with a diesel, petrol, LPG / methane or electrified hybrid car . 2035 is the year from which only electric cars can be sold.

Therefore, the thermal component must not be present even in the plugin cars. This is an important aspect that needs to be considered. Clearly Europe is one of the main global car sales players and this proposal must also be considered on a global scale.

Several realities would like to have this transition from 2040 and not from 2035. The reason is to allow a better and softer transition while respecting fairly tight industrial times.

If Volkswagen had already announced that from 2035 it will no longer produce vehicles with internal combustion, not everyone can say so.

On the other hand, the number of electric charging stations will also have to increase but the capacity to produce electricity will also have to increase. In fact, if we replace diesel, petrol and LPG / methane with electricity, we should also create new and greater ways of producing electricity.

Currently, good old oil is an almost inexhaustible source in the coming years, but it is not known whether the current structure of electricity production is able to withstand the epochal change in cars.

This aspect, in our opinion, is really important as it is one of the main concerns that should be considered. There is currently no news about it. Negotiations have begun and we will see if this date will be confirmed in the coming months or if a slightly longer changeover time will be given in order to facilitate everyone and carry out the ecological tradition in a softer way.
