The German automotive house has created two showcars dedicated to Star Wars, of its 100% electric Van.

Waiting for the real electric revolution, where all cars will be completely electric, Volkswagen presented two very special cars of its 100% electric Van.

We are talking about an important collaboration with Star Wars, which we will see very soon debut on our screens. On the occasion of the new Obi-Wan Kenobi television series, arriving on Disney Plus these days, Volkswagen has created special versions of its ID.Buzz, with beige-gold and red shades.

These two cars are named Light Side Edition and ID. Buzz Dark Side Edition and were shown before the series began in California.

These special achievements embody the bright side and the dark side of the force, obviously inspired by the heroes Obi-Wan Kenobi and Darth Vader. The iconic characters of the series have been a source of inspiration for Volkswagen designers to create truly unique customizations.

These customizations are really reminiscent of the television series in particular in the films. It will certainly be very difficult to see these cars on the road, as they are two showcars. These types of cars are made for particular situations and that will never see the actual mass realization.

Put simply, no one will ever be able to buy such a car and be able to circulate freely. These cars are made for special events and underline the collaboration between two companies, as in this case with Disney +.

Clearly the collaboration between Volkswagen and Star Wars, was made as a function of a second collaboration or with Lucasfilm, or the production company that owns the copyrights of the series.

The version that represents light is based on the passenger version of the minivan, with a length of about 4 m and 71 cm, a wheelbase of 3 meters and a width of just under 2 meters.

Technically, the color of the lower section is beige tending to gold, and is obviously inspired by the hue of Obi-Wan's tunic. Obviously, there is also a glossy chrome plating on the upper part, which recalls the design of the spaceships and drones of the Star Wars universe.

Running all over the side of the car, we have a blue line running from the front headlights to the rear lights and symbolizes Obi-Wan's lightsaber.

The color of the glass is a dark blue, which still allows a perfect view of the road. For fans of the series, there are also the alliance logos, well positioned on the rear side windows and in the center of the wheels.

The latter have a specific diameter of 21 inches and recall the design of the entire vehicle in the design of the alloy wheels.

The version dedicated to the dark side of the force, on the other hand, is based on the Cargo version of the 100% electric vehicle. Basically the colors are black and red, with a matte trend for the lower part.

The lines that run on the side are characterized by a red color and are obviously inspired by Darth Vader's lightsaber. Red colors have also been added to the underbody, through the inclusion of LEDs, which transmits an even more accentuated strength of the car.

Also in this case, the glasses have a color in line with the whole: they have been made with a red color. As in the strength side, also in this case we have 21-inch wheels, with a slightly different design than the light version.

This is how Volkswagen wanted to celebrate an exceptional television series, which has made billions of fans around the world.

Crafting a classic Volkswagen bus from the 1960s, the new Volkswagen ID.Buzz is powered by a new electric motor. The total power is 204 horsepower, with the engine placed on the rear axle, and powered by a battery with a net capacity of 77 kWh. The latter can be recharged with alternating current up to 11 kW, or with direct current up to 170 kW.

The series version, we recall, is produced within the German plant in Hanover, while all the other electrical parts are made in the other Volkswagen plants in Germany.

Currently, the vehicle has not yet been marketed and therefore prices have not yet been confirmed, but we should be talking about € 45,000 for the Cargo version or a little more for the passenger version.

In any case, Volkswagen has once again entered the collective imagination with this iconic vehicle, which allows the design and strength of a vehicle to be expressed in an excellent way, thanks to a collaboration with an international reality in the world of cinema.

It is a pity not to see these vehicles on the road, as they are really pleasant in their creations.

Clearly, the Highway Codes must be subject to certain legal systems and for the safety of all, they will not be marketed.

Our wish, however, is that more and more car manufacturers will realize such collaborations with the big film industries or with any important media event. The spectacularization of the Automotive world, in fact, is very useful at this time, in order to see what the creatives of the Automotive world are able to achieve for the external and internal part of the vehicles.
