Whenever we have to sell our car online, putting a nice photo is definitely something that increases the likelihood of selling the car. Let's find out the tricks of the professionals together in this article.

When looking for a new used car online, a key aspect is the photos. If we have to buy or sell a car, it is essential that it is perfectly portrayed within a photo shoot. In fact, our goal is to represent the latter in the best possible way in order to conclude the deal as soon as possible.

However, there are some rules that must be remembered in order to fit a car perfectly. Obviously we cannot take a shot inside a studio, with a white background and therefore without the outline of the surrounding environment. However, we can take our car to an area quite distant from other buildings or other cars.

Taking a photograph of a car that is positioned inside a parking lot with other cars nearby is certainly something not congenial. In fact, the car is not highlighted and therefore loses a potential value. We can take our car inside a completely free parking lot or on an open space if we live in the countryside that clearly highlights our car.

We try to photograph our car on days where there is no full sun and, indeed, there are clouds that cover the sun. The rays of the direct sun can in fact lead to annoying reflections that do not well understand the beauty of our car. Therefore, if we have a situation of veiled cloudiness, this will be perfect.

If we use a reflex camera, a further advice is to use a polarizing filter as it further eliminates reflections from the bodywork.

The first photograph we need to take is obviously the front 3/4. We have to position ourselves so that we have the car on our left. The height of the shot should be made approximately 1.3-1.4 meters above the ground. This way we will never have too high or too low vision. We therefore avoid wide-angle photographs, positioned too close to the car or too low. This type of photography is perfect if we want to create emotions for a single shot, but they are absolutely to be avoided for a “car sales” photograph.

Always remaining at the same height from the ground, we make a front shot and then a front 3/4 shot from the opposite side. Let's move successively on the side and in the rear 3/4 on both sides and in the rear.

The interiors are very important and for this reason we begin to photograph the trunk, the front dashboard retracted from the rear center seat and also the driver's dashboard highlighting the kilometers.

If the car is characterized by some accessories, or some interesting particularities, it is good to portray these aspects. We are talking, for example, of the alloy wheels, the panoramic roof, the rear spoiler, the raised or lowered aspect.

Obviously we always try to take the completeness of the object in its totality without making it appear cut. In fact, the car must always be beautifully filled in the photograph and also the optional, in particular, must not be cut.

A key aspect is the use of flash. We avoid like the plague the use of the flash positioned above the reflex or the one used inside the mobile phone. These flashes return a flat effect to photography. The advice is to use natural light for exteriors and if interiors need to be photographed with the addition of an additional light, we buy a small led and let our friend hold it, never positioning it in the same direction as the photograph, in order to illuminate well the scene without giving it a flat effect.

If we are then Photoshop wizards and we want to go to perfect the brightness, let's always remember to shoot with a reflex camera or with a mobile phone that can take shots in Raw, in order to be able to act in terms of light and whites. However, we try to take a photograph that respects the surrounding colors and real colors as much as possible. So let's avoid having a car that is totally perfect or that shows how it has been subjected to manipulation in Photoshop. It would have a boomerang effect and our car would have a hard time selling.
